100 Things or What Not to Store

Sue tells me that Shelly sometimes decides she's going to give away 100 things and goes through the house clearing out miscellaneous items. Shelly's house is not cluttered, and I admire that. Especially since things are starting to get out of control around here.

So today I'm going to give away 100 things, starting with my closet.
There's a lot of stuff in there that needs a good home.
Winter holdouts, pre-Texas (14 years)
Maternity leftovers (10 years)
Things I might fit into again (6/5/4/3/2 years)

I'm talking about the really cute stuff...
You know the Serentiy Prayer? Here is my cleaning-out-the-closet version:

God grant me the serenity
to accept the things I cannot wear;
courage to find the things I can;
and wisdom to know the difference.

DO you know Shelly's blog? I love it when she gets rid of 14 pairs of shoes. I don't think I even own that much.

Oh I remember when you did that with my stuff. Cowboy boots, for example, "oh take them, Erika won't mind!" And I didn't, of course, and was mad that you were right...

Mirjam -- I think we've got two different Shellys. : )

Those cowboy boots! You will never let me live it down -- the rainbow stitched ones you got from DI or something for freshman year equestrian class and then never wore again -- I did offer them to someone WITH THE PROVISION YOU MIGHT WANT THEM BACK.

I don't remember ever just going through your stuff, though. You LOVE to make me look bad. I might have to post more old photos. : )

I could have used those cowboy boots this year for the rodeo! You should have let her keep them so I could use them 15 years later...

Love, love, love this post. I am committed to getting rid of 100 things....which should be easy since I am cleaning out the big van to head on our road trip tomorrow. Do old french fries count? :)
