Let's play:
Fortunately, we found the perfect 2008 Highlander in time for Spring Break.
Unfortunately, we cleaned out most of our savings to buy it.
Fortunately, trading in one of our vintage cars helped pay for it. A little.
Unfortunately, it appears we traded in the wrong vintage vehicle.
Fortunately, no one was hurt when the Avalon died on the exit ramp.
Unfortunately, a new engine might cost more than the car is worth.
Fortunately, we have two offers for the immobilized vehicle.
Unfortunately, the best is $500.
Fortunately, we're choosing to remain positive.

Good for you for staying positive - Fortunately this car situation does not happen everyday...
Ahhhh, I'm sorry. I really am glad nobody was hurt!!
I killed Cameron (our Camry) on the freeway a couple of years ago; we got $800 for him. It was a bittersweet transaction.
If you need something economical in a second car, I've been toying with the idea of Civic. They're actually pretty nice, and fun to drive. You should be able to get a 2005-2008 relatively cheap.
Oh yeah...sorry for your loss.
Truly a bummer. Let's commiserate over a burger and fries.
