| The Rainbow Connection |
When I took out the trash today (go me!) I noticed the glaring difference between the new A/C unit's trimmed back greenery and the creeping vines that have completely obscured the concrete slab for the old unit. So I got out the kiddie rake and the shears and hacked/dragged the ground cover back to where it belongs. I did this while still in my skirt from this morning. I'm cool like that.
It has been two weeks since The Lice, so I liberated the front room pillows and throws from their trash bag exile. Now the love seat and chair don't have to be ashamed of their nakedness. Sweet. The scandalously bare church pew in the family room is about to receive the same treatment.
One week following the initial tidy, the office is still presentable. Enough.
Thanks to me, the laundry room floor is cleared and you can safely pass through to the garage again.
Three hot pink memo boards are going up in Anna's room today. I will use newspaper cutouts to make sure they are straight. I will do this unaided, with my bare hands. And a hammer.
Tomorrow's seminary lesson is about Noah, so it's animal cookies for the treasure box. I didn't have an appropriately themed gluten-free treat for my celiac friend but then realized Skittles would work -- you know, "taste the rainbow."
I rock.

LOL! I love the animal crackers and the "rainbow" of Skittles. You do rock.
FWIW, when I evaluated Scouting activities, I tried to ask three very specific questions: 1. What did we do well? 2. What can we do different/better next time? 3. What did we enjoy that we should do more of next time?
I found these were all forward-looking, positive, not-taking-things-personal ways of evaluating myself and the activities.
You learn to ride a bike by riding a bike. Yes, you tip over sometimes, but it gets better every time you try.
And knowing you, I'm sure your class rocks. (Wocka, wocka, wocka!)
I love reading your posts! Way to go on gettin' things done. AND now take a break and kick those feet up!
YOU ARE TOTALLY AWESOME!!! Call me and I will tell you in person if you need a 'sunshine' moment. You are GREAT! I wish I was half as creative and cool as you.
yes, you do rock! Sharon I am missing you terribly these days...wish I could sit in on the seminary class. Wish I could have a slumber party in your guest room-only no moving this time, please :)
you are one of my favorite people ever. Thanks for being amazing.
and p.s. I believe you know Ella and Bro. Romney? one of our good friends here just welcomed her son home from their misison; he was sister Romney's translator for many weeks/months, they are doing well, thought you'd get a kick out of that 'raindow' connection...
