Normal

Alert the media: I am fine! Yesterday I vacuumed and did laundry and mended the laundry sorter bag while the piano was tuned and did more laundry and made cookies and said goodbye to Joe and Kathy who are moving to Florida and made dinner and went to the park with Anna and cleaned up the kitchen and tucked kids in bed and didn't go to bed until the sun was down.

Highlights: I sucked up something from underneath Anna's bed but didn't investigate further. There was a french fry in the hall and chapstick in the washer. I found out that the upside down beaters at the park spin around really fast when an adult gets on them. Ditto the slanted turntable.

The official letter with results from my follow-up mammo came. That's the mammo they told me was to check for any scarring from the biopsy but I secretly suspected was to double check to make sure nothing suspicious was going on. You know, in case there was some cancer after all? This is the thought that has lurked in the back of my mind for the past six months.

Opening line: We are pleased to inform you that the results of your exam are normal/benign (not cancer).

See what I mean? I knew I was fine -- handsome doctor told me the day of my appointment -- but this letter, which for all I know could be sent after every routine mammogram, did nothing to dispel my suspicions about the check up.

Why mention handsome doctor? Because when you meet your doctor in a paper vest right before your biopsy it comes as a bit of a jolt to find he's not just a doctor but looks like he could play one on TV.

normal is good. no wait, normal is great. I remember yelling at the park:" kate, get me off this thing." I could not stop the spinning.

I am so glad you are feeling better. :) Yes, mentioning the handsome doctor is totally appropriate considering the news you were waiting to hear. SO glad the letter said you are 'normal'. I, myself, think you are totally awesome!!!!

SHARON! I am screaming your name if you can't tell by the uppercase letters! Love your blog. You especially gave me some peace with your quotes from finding answers. I had no clue you had that scare with cancer. So glad that is over with. Um, sorry for being so quiet. I have lots of good excuses....biggest one...we are having our 5th baby the end of April. It is a boy. Yes, I am on bedrest. Not fun! Don't ya have an email that I can privately write to you?
Gorgeous! Wish you were here!
Love ya,
Correne

wish I had read this earlier - then when we met in Salt Lake for waffles and frites I would have hugged normal you even harder and would have chatted with Anna about what she thinks of DI. I could tell her that I often visit DI here in Utah...would that have made her laugh? I love your blog too - Kendrick just started her own with the same beautiful wallpaper. I told her to check yours out for a very good model - I especially like all your photos.
