These Are Great

The Book Thief was most compelling book I read last year. After I finished it, I just sat there for a few moments in silence. Have you read it?

Warning: German swear words abound in this book.
They are translated the first time but if you can substitute your own
silly curse like "sock monkey" or "doodyhead," you'll do fine.

And this movie is wonderful. Run to Blockbuster or queue it up on Netflix. You'll laugh, you'll cry... you'll feel better about the world.

I absolutely agree with you on Book Thief. It was my favorite book last year too. I also like your word substitutions :) doodyhead-hahaha

The Book Thief was really good. Now read "The Help". It will be equally amazing but less German swearing. Glad you liked the movie as well.

Thanks for the suggestions. I love to have a good book to read and a good movie to watch. :-)

The Book Thief was amazing, to say the least. I happen to speak German, so substituting words wasn't quite as easy for me :)

absolutely love this novel. Made me cry. Stayed up waaaayyy too late to finish the last 100 pages-how could anyone live through all that girl lived through? thanks for reminding me. I agree with Mimi "The Help" was also amazing; having lived where we had "help" (South Africa) it was especially personal for me. Haven't seen the movie yet, planning to soon!

LOVED The Book Thief, as did my 16 year old daughter. It's been a couple years since I read it and have found myself wanting to pick it up again. I'll add the movie to my list.
